This patent covered the addition of a half cock notch to self-cocking
revolvers. In operation, it was similar to the "hesitation" mechanisms
patented by Ells, Cooper and others. The trigger was pulled a short
distance, raising the hammer from the nipple and holding it in the
raised position until the trigger was pulled further. The patent model
was an Allen Wheelock bar hammer revolver with the half cock feature
added. No production use of this patent was made. |
